Luke LaHaie – CIO/Founder

Overall Investment Strategy + Daily Management for ACAP

Luke LaHaie has over 12 years of professional experience, which includes commercial lending, transaction advisory, audit, tax, and lender services. At ACAP, Luke participates in all facets of the business including origination, portfolio management, investment strategy and planning, and overall day to day management of ACAP.

Prior to ACAP, Luke LaHaie was the managing director at ExWorks Capital, overseeing portfolio management, credit analysis/underwriting, investment committee presentation, investor relations, and new business development. He also focused on transaction advisory and lender services at both RedRidge Due Diligence Services and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Luke LaHaie’s diverse experience has provided him with a broad understanding of not only assessing collateral and cash flows of a business but also an insight into optimal Capital Structure and debt levels a company can withstand. Luke holds a master’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Michigan State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant registered in both Illinois and Michigan, and a CFA® Charterholder.

Steve Kravitz – President

Head of SBA Lending for The Loan Source

The Loan Source Inc. is one of only 14 national Small Business Lending Companies (SBLC) licensed by the U.S. Small Business Administration (“SBA”) to make government-guaranteed 7(a) loans. Currently, The Loan Source has held its SBLC license longer than any other current SBLC. As one of only a handful of individuals that have owned and operated both an SBIC and an SBLC, Steve Kravitz is uniquely qualified in all aspects of providing access to capital to small business owners.

Steve Kravitz is also the past president of Diamond Capital Corp. a Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) licensed by SBA. Steve formed this SBIC, raised the capital, and managed all aspects of its operations until he sold his interest just prior to the creation of The Loan Source Inc.

Steve is an integral part of the oversight and management team at ACAP and Loan Source’s servicing of their PPP loans. Steve’s deep SBA experience has allowed us to stay at the forefront of SBA regulations and pronouncements.

Josh Kravitz – VP

Portfolio, Operations, and Compliance Management for The Loan Source

Joshua Kravitz joined The Loan Source working part-time through law school. Since 2016 he has managed the company’s loan closings, legal and regulatory portfolio, and business development. He is also a member of the Company’s Credit Committee.

A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Joshua Kravitz holds an A.B in Political Science and is a graduate of the Fordham University School of Law with a JD. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New York.

David Cody – Founder

Strategic Guidance + External Partnerships for ACAP

David Cody brings three decades of asset management, business development, and capital formation experience as Senior Advisor to ACAP. David has established a proven track record of identifying market and industry dislocations and building successful funds around them.

Galway Advisors partners with alternative asset management firms to commercialize their investment thesis. David Cody brings direct or secondary involvement in the development of more than 300 asset management products. He also has capital formation and distribution experience raising over $50 billion across asset classes and products in both institutional and retail channels.

An early partner of Fortress Investment Group, David Cody developed new businesses while growing assets under management to more than $40 billion, expanding both the scope and reach of the firm during his tenure. After departing Fortress in 2010, David served as the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of MatlinPatterson Asset Management L.P. (“MPAM”).

Matt Stanley – Managing Director

Head of Originations for ACAP

Matt Stanley has over 30 years of experience in the commercial finance and lending industry – started in 1985 with Commonwealth Financial Corporation after working at IBM in the accounting area for two years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Colorado College. Matt is also a member of the Commercial Finance Association and the Turnaround Management Association At ACAP, Matt heads direct origination efforts.

As the Managing Director at ExWorks Capital, Matt Stanley focused on the middle market and lower middle market. Prior to his focus at ExWorks, Mr. Stanley was an original employee of RedRidge Finance Group as an Executive Vice President of originations and helped brand RedRidge both locally and nationally in all its business services.

Brett Crabtree – Managing Director

Head of Originations for ACAP

Specializing in niche businesses and lending products. Brett Crabtree brings over 18 years of commercial lending experience to ACAP. He received his B.S. in Economics from the University of New Hampshire Whittemore School of Business and Economics, and his M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. As Managing Director, Brett is responsible for west coast originations.

At ExWorks, Brett Crabtree focused on business development efforts that target middle-market companies that operate in a variety of sectors. Previously he has opened the west coast offices for IBJ Whitehall and Bridge Finance Group and held positions at Finova Capital’s Healthcare Finance Group, Comerica Bank, and Marsh’s Private Equity M&A Group.

Bryan Hallene – Director

Relationship Management, Due Diligence, and Process Management

As a Director, Bryan Hallene is responsible for managing client relationships, new client due diligence, and process management for ACAP. Bryan holds a Bachelor’s degree from Augustana College, where he double-majored in Accounting and Business Administration. He is also a Certified Public Accountant registered in Illinois.

At ExWorks, Bryan Hallene participated in multiple facets of the business including investor relations, financial analysis, portfolio management, and new business development. Prior to ExWorks, Bryan was focused on transaction advisory at RedRidge Diligence Services. As a Senior Associate at RedRidge, he performed M&A and lender due diligence projects operating in the middle market within various industries including manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, specialty finance, and professional services.

Samson Lam – Director

Client Relationships, Due Diligence, & Process Efficiency Improvement

Samson Lam brings over six years of transaction service experience to the ACAP team and has assisted both strategic and private equity clients for both buy-side and sell-side engagements with targets and sellers based both in the US and globally. He is responsible for assisting over $3B loans, and has an extensive quality of earnings experience in healthcare, particularly in the physical therapy, independent medical exam, and skilled nursing facilities industries. Samson also holds a master’s degree in Accountancy and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University.

Prior to joining ACAP, Samson acted on behalf of Exworks Capital to work directly with the CEO and CFO at a subsidiary to develop turnaround strategies, to assist with capital raising initiatives and identify/evaluate potential restructuring/debt financing alternatives. Samson also spent 3 years as an advisor at Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP (PwC) and Redridge Finance Group and has assisted both strategic and private equity clients for both buy-side and sell-side engagements with targets and sellers based both in the US and globally, primarily working in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and industrial manufacturing industries ranging from $20M to over $2B.

Julia Lukicheva – Director of Marketing & Customer Experience

Oversees Strategic Marketing, Strategy, and Planning

Julia Lukicheva is responsible for managing internal and external branding, marketing, and communications strategies for ACAP. In her role as Director of Marketing and Customer Experience, she also supervises and oversees strategy, planning, and execution of customer experience goals. She is an enthusiastic marketing professional who specializes in social media, email marketing campaigns, inbound marketing, client relations, event planning, brand marketing, public relations, and marketing start-up environments. Julia is also fluent in Russian, with dual citizenship in the USA and Russia. She holds a Bachelor of Science from DePaul University in Finance and Marketing as well as a Graphic Design Certificate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).

Prior to joining ACAP, Julia Lukicheva was the assistant vice president of direct marketing for ExWorks Capital. She was a member of the Originations Team, responsible for sourcing new business and heading the marketing department for the fund. Julia was responsible for marketing and engaging new clients in need of financing through domestic, import, and export trade financing products. In spring 2017, she transferred from the corporate headquarters in Chicago to the Washington D.C. Metro Area to launch an office for the ExWorks Capital Fund and further expand the company’s East Coast presence. Julia covered the New England and Mid-Atlantic markets for ExWorks Capital.

Prior to ExWorks Capital, Julia spearheaded the marketing department for RedRidge Finance Group. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from DePaul University in Finance and Marketing as well as a Certificate of Graphic Design from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Julia speaks three languages and holds a Cambridge University CELTA Certificate for International Studies.

Rachel Williams – Director

Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships

Rachel Williams leads implementation of strategic initiatives for ACAP. In this capacity, Rachel stewards all aspects of business development including planning and partnership integration. Rachel works closely with ACAP’s marketing team to foster new growth and member engagement. Rachel received her Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in marketing from Bryant University.

Galway Advisors partners with alternative asset management firms to commercialize their investment thesis. At Galway, Rachel executed strategic initiatives, institutionalized product offerings, and managed capital formation processes. Prior to Galway, Rachel served as a Vice President at Easterly Partners Group overseeing all aspects of capital formation, business development, and investor relations across asset classes in institutional and retail channels.

Adam Zaabel – Associate Director

Forgiveness Process Management & Financial Analysis for ACAP

Adam Zaabel joined ACAP GP, LLC with 7 years of experience in direct lending, lender services, and financial due diligence. Adam Zaabel is an expert in Paycheck Protection Program loans beginning with the program’s inception in early 2020. He helped manage the borrower experience and lender verification for multiple banks and lending institutions – gaining a deep understanding of the rules and regulations governing the program as well as the complex guidance issued by the Small Business Administration for borrowers and lenders alike. Adam has gained valuable experience in the healthcare, construction, specialty finance, and general manufacturing industries.

Prior to joining ACAP, Adam Zaabel served as a Senior Associate for a senior secured private debt fund that provided the necessary liquidity to businesses in need of financing for growth. His responsibilities included financial modeling of the portfolio and individual transactions, investor reporting, portfolio management, and analyzing credit decisions. Adam has performed extensive due diligence on behalf of lenders for Asset-Based Lending (ABL) deals and Quality of Earnings reviews for mergers and acquisitions. Adam began his career in the Chicago Audit Practice at Deloitte & Touche, LLP. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Illinois.
